AVACA are a leading arts education charity which works across the built environment and creative arts. We have been providing creative workspace and community arts programmes for almost 50 years.
One of the largest affordable studio operators in the UK, we currently manage a portfolio of 15 buildings of different types and scale, mostly in London. We support the creative industries eco-system with workspace for 400 visual artists, makers and creative social enterprises and professional development programmes.
A pioneer of delivering arts in health and wellbeing settings, we bring professional artists together with local communities in programmes to explore their creativity and enable job creation, transformations in health and wellbeing and career development.
ACAVA stands for the Association for Cultural Advancement through Visual Art. Created as a statement of radical intent by the artist founders to use culture for social good, it remains the ethos of our organisation today.
